Safe Hand Movements


Mouse & Trackball:

* Place the mouse near the keyboard so that your arm is relaxed at your side.
* Hold the mouse loosely with all fingers, and keep the wrist in neutral
position.
* Avoid putting your wrist or forearm on the table or desk.
* Use the entire arm, from shoulder to move the mouse or trackball.
* Use the touch-operated equipment.
* Release the thumb and avoid stretching it in awkward positions.

Scripture:

* Keep your wrist in neutral position.
* Avoid moving the wrist towards the front, rear or side.
* Get support for your forearm, but avoid sharp desk edges.
* Do not tighten your pen - use a pen or pens bigger.
* Carefully choose your pen - ink pens write better than pens.
* Do not write.
* Release the thumb and avoid stretching it in awkward positions.
