BMI

The main indicator used is the body mass index (BMI). It takes into account the shape of the individual, even if it can be exceptionally biased in the case of athletes with muscle mass is very important.

For adults, a BMI equals weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of the height of the body (in meters):

The body mass index (BMI) A * between 18.5 and 25 normal for an adult.
* He was appointed weight gain between 25-30 (overweight).
* Beyond 30, and we are talking about obesity.
* 35-40, and called obesity and beyond 40 years, suffering from morbid obesity.

However, it should not be confused with the body fat index BMI, it does not measure the proportionality between the size and weight, but simply fat and muscle content in the body of the individual.

Can be calculated using a scale specific resistance or a relatively complex calculation based on the diameter of the weapons, arms, buttocks, thighs and hips.
