The non-profit farm animal
rescue organization was named after a red steer named Boscoe
that grazed alone in a field on the way to Escondido from
Valley Center. The sun glistening off Boscoe’s hide
gave him a purple tinge. The sanctuary could not raise enough
funds to save Boscoe from going to a slaughterhouse. The
“Purple” also stands for the bravery. The bravery
of its founder Ms. Tiffany St. Ives, who single handedly
has been running the sanctuary for the last 14 years.

We accept all domestic animals. The older, sicker and handicapped
animals are given special care. The animals are free to roam
on the farm. The goal is to have them live out their natural
life in a safe and loving environment. |

Here a calf that has never been out of a crate kicks up
his heels with his first taste of freedom. Here a horse whose
only contact with humans is a loving hug and comes towards
us with his first trusting steps. Safe at last, their eyes
shine with eternal gratefulness. |

The animal’s diet consists of unsurpassed home cooking
and plethora of live organic fare in addition to hay and grains.
We work with reasonable blend of holistic and noted western
veterinarians. Through diet, medical care and loving environment,
we have been able to bring many animals from debilitating
to hardy, healthy and happy ones. |
